When it rains, it pours - even when it comes to vegan chocolate! Following the historical release of Hershey’s first vegan chocolate bar, another chocolate giant is about to release a completely vegan chocolate bar next month! Cadbury will be naming their new plant-based chocolate “Plant Bar” and it’s going to be based on almond paste.
The UK chocolate giants have been working on the development of this bar for two years and they will be releasing it in two variations: smooth chocolate and smooth chocolate with salted caramel pieces. The packaging will also be 100% plant-based and from renewable sources.
The only thing that kind of puts a damper on the whole thing is the price tag: £2.50 for a 90g bar – more than double the price of a standard Cadbury Dairy Milk bar. What do you think, will you be giving it a try?
