1. Soak nuts, grains or seeds 12 hours or overnight. Soaking releases enzyme inhibitors and improves nutrient digestion/assimilation. Toasting helps, too. It brings out a rich, toasty flavor for milks.
2. Drain the nuts/Grains/seeds and combine with 3 cups of water in a blender. Be sure to use fresh water - not your soak water.
3. Add your favorite ingredients to create the desired flavor. Use dates, fruits, sugar or agave.
4. Blend at high speed for one minute or until mixture is liquified. A high-speed machine works best.
5. Strain with a nut milk bag, if desired. Drape a nut milk bag or cheesecloth over a bowl or large glass. Pour blended contents through the fabric to strain.
